"Your own, personal, Jesus..." Great song, btw!
But crazy parents naming their kid Jesus Christ only make one wonder if human stupidity is indeed limitless as Einstein suspected in his famous “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe.”
Priest's family has 4 children. The last one they named after their saviour, Jesus. The full name of the boy is Jesus Christ Radzyuk, 'Jesus Christ' being his first.
The victim of his nutcase parents is being home-schooled.
In the interviews he says he wants to become a priest like his father when he grows up. Big surprise, right?
The father is heading one of the local churches and says the same fate awaits his son, which he knew ever since the boy was born.
He also posesses some kind of crown that he claims Christ himself once passed onto Rurikovich dynasty, then it somehow went to his ancestors who were also priests and finally - to him as an inheritance.
The father is the sickest of the family, he is the only one willing to speak to the press. Neither his wife, nor his other children agree to give interviews.
The mother was asked by the authorities to submit a written permission to name her son Jesus Christ which she did. She is probably just obeying her husband as Bible prescribes.
It always saddens me to realize that the greatest number of crimes always goes unpunished. There are so many ways in which parents are able to abuse their personal slaves - their children - and get away with it. And even if we wanted to hold them accountable for their selfish experiments on living beings, how would we go about accomplishing it without hurting their children in the same time. In vast majoity of cases, kids still love their parents.
And quite often, probably almost always, parents abusing their children is the result of them being abused as kids as well. Which reminds me of a poem by Philip Larkin, “This Be the Verse”:
They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another’s throats.
Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don’t have any kids yourself.

This was an absolutely hilarious article...and sad! It's such as shame that this young boy is being brain washed by his nutter of a father.
Btw, I only recently discovered your blog, and I must say, I find your commentary intelligent and funny. I look forward to reading future posts! |

Hey Rick! I wouldn't count on this blog being too funny overall though, it's rather of the pessimistic nature. I do share funny pics on facebook though.)) |

I think I have to agree: this was pretty pessimistic
But I agree. There is a lot to say about religion (which I won't do here because it would be a recipe for even more depression - I have a habit of nagging people by debating the ins and outs of theology, which can be really fun) -- However, this is a clear case of how 'believers' are often people who have shut down the question-asking part of their brains. They would believe just anything, because it's written in an old book which has become the accepted standard' for Christian faith. If just Christians would already have the guts to let go the very idea that this book is the "cookery book" of Christian life... if they would give up this idea and use their brains again, maybe more people would appreciate the good stories in the Bible. What makes them so terrible is the expectation to take it all literally. Mark Noll wrote a book with the appropriate title "The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind". That summarizes it pretty well I think. |
