lol nope, Brian, this is how I am completely sober that's why i never tried any drugs other than marijuana (which i didn't like either), if i'm in the mood and I'm confty and safe and healthy and there's nobody spoiling my fun, I'm having fun naturally. I don't mind drinking a little of dry wine or cocktails but getting drunk isn't something I enjoy. happy new year to you too! |

@Irina Well, well, you show your face again! Really, Irina, I wish I could just give you a big hug! You are so refreshingly straightforward, honest, intelligent, insightful, and still visually entertaining I lament the fact that we live so far apart. I think we could really have an interesting friendship, really, friendship, despite what Brick might think.
Since you legitimately complain about having to stare at a camera, I was wanting to put a link to a recent photo with an extension of php but darn it I can't remember if that would work or not. Since I eschew photos, and can't seem to figure out how to post images/links whatever in your blog, here is a link with a face pic a few years old (reference San Antonio chapter). http://www.combatshuaichiao.com/acsca.html You are right on about living life, and I am just a bit ahead of you. The problem comes when you have done a lot to distract yourself (with real interest, mostly) and everything becomes been there done that and it is hard to distract yourself any more. And more and more isolation rears its head because you need to be spared the daily idiots. You aren't there yet, but I predict... Flow is the term I use when teaching, especially martial arts, that addresses your comments on such. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology) My Chinese immigrant friend confirmed that he has visited Ukraine twice this year, and is now engaged to a Ukrainian woman, who plans on living with him here in Texas in the woods with his herbal shop and dao-istic practice. She has a similar look to yours, interestingly enough, and is from Kiev, just a little older. I won't second guess their motives, they are fully adult and am sure everyone has their eyes wide shut about the whole thing. I am an invited guest to the upcoming wedding and should learn more about her, my friend says her English is good (probably better than his, actually). Well, once you have a body of work, like Einstein, you'll probably just spend the rest of your life producing nothing much of value, merely working at the margins, trying to distract yourself with ever diminishing success. http://discovermagazine.com/2004/sep/einsteins-grand-quest As you know, my biggest conundrum is how to present AN to the world and have it become common sense. I know that no one can convince anyone, they can only convince themselves, but there needs to be more than this initial groundswell of thoughtful people on this new global communication device to move AN forward, and maybe your videos are part of that legacy. So good to see you again, looking more mature, middle-aged, and hitting those same spots that others who see truth recognize and commiserate with, it makes us feel a little less lonely. |

@Irina the link I backtested for flow is broken, somehow the _(psychology) part is chopped off. Maybe copy it first and try that to get to the psych page concerning flow...

Oh I know about 'flow', think i've experienced it a few times. Also, back in the 7th grade I attended karate section for half a year, then our teacher moved out of town. Really liked it. I know how the thing you first start carefully and methodically learning after some time come automatically, that's cool. Really, Irina, I wish I could just give you a big hug! You are so refreshingly straightforward, honest, intelligent, insightful, and still visually entertaining I lament the fact that we live so far apart. I think we could really have an interesting friendship You're generous with compliments so I think that friendship might have worked Thank you, makes me feel less lonely too. Well, who knows, I might visit US one day. Not sure if Texas in particular but I heard your domestic flights are not terribly expensive. Ukrainian ones are, because of monopoly, oligarchs - the works. You are right on about living life, and I am just a bit ahead of you. The problem comes when you have done a lot to distract yourself (with real interest, mostly) and everything becomes been there done that and it is hard to distract yourself any more. Gee, thanks for "encouragement", future is looking even brighter now. Have you tried organized crime? lol jk my friend says her English is good (probably better than his, actually). LOL |

Or you could dance in a bikini while reading Artsybashev in future videos?? That would be pretty Avant-gardian...such great performance art. Do that, and you will be next Youtube-star, I am sure . Ahhh yes, sometimes I just have to congratulate myself for my genius ideas But anyways, I wish you happy new year.

Neh, pessimistic message doesn't go with bikini dancing, it's too life-affirming. Unless the bikini and what's in it is really ugly, lol))) Then it's a weapon of mass distruction))) happy new year to you too |

@Irina Sometimes it helps to know other people get it. I think I am supposed to get permission to post any of the comments written by others before doing so in another forum, but hopefully these are simple and small enough that nobody has a problem with it. I thought anyone reading this blog might want to read this, not because I wrote it, but because maybe it expresses thoughts that sometimes get lost in all the arguments about vegetarianism and owning a car, etc. So, for what it is worth, a comment I made on the VHEMT site…
Kirk Woller After reading all of these posts, I hesitate to comment, but really, seriously, when you were born without your consent your parents forced you to cause and endure suffering, there is almost no way around it. I have killed animals for food by my own hand as a child with tears in my eyes as well as to prevent their suffering after being run over by careless drivers who wouldn't have the guts to pull the trigger, raised vegetables and then killed them to be able to eat, ridden horses who had no real choice in the matter and subsequently cared for them, etc. etc. but no matter what one does, humans cause and endure suffering. I wish people didn't use industrial farming or meat producing techniques, they are quite horrible, but population pressure precludes hunting and gathering for most people, and watching as the surrounding wooded habitats I loved as a child are bulldozed daily to accommodate more generic sheetrocked apartments full of ignorant zombies only concerned with their internet speed makes me sick to my stomach and makes me appreciate only having a few decades more to endure it. Working around the margins like being a vegan, or recycling cardboard, or taking in stray dogs, is all great, but many times is just a feel good activity to avoid the realities of life. The only real solution to being a super predator is to avoid making more super predators, and IMO, the highest level of evolution is recognizing the pointlessness and harm in existence and invoking self-extinction through AN without the compounding difficulties of mass suicide. "Saving mankind" or escaping to a cold hard rock in space like every other movie these days seems to advocate is just total cognitive dissonance. The problem is *us*. We need to go, and no amount of tofu-eating or temporary resource rearranging, unfortunately, is going to do it. in another universe, where natalists are marginalized and antinatalists rule (don't ask me how, lols), I imagine you, Kirk, a candidate for some post, running for an office, saying this speach and getting applause from your electorate |

Hi Irina. Nice to see you in good spirits (relatively speaking).
So, a little rambling of my own: Yesterday was New Years Eve and a little before midnight I went to a town's square in Lisbon. As the final countdown began I was completely surrounded by people, most of them ecstatic, my girlfriend was there with me, there were fireworks, there was drinking, there was joy and happiness all around me and yet, as usual, I had this deep feeling inside of me of...this is all wrong, this is all fake, I have no absolutely no reason whatsoever to celebrate. Why would I celebrate this? A year gone by? Another one coming? This nightmarish existence. Why are we celebrating this? Aren't most people around me just looking for an excused to get shitfaced anyway? And isn't it true that the real reason all these people want to drink is, not so much that they are happy and want to enhance their happiness but because deep down, beneath all the rationalization and self-deception, they know that life is not only not worth it but worse than that, a terrible, painful experience? Anyway, I'm completely resigned to the fact that I will always have this incapacity to, enjoy moments like that I guess. I've seen behind the curtain and once you do that, you can't unsee it. |

Hi Bernardo, I know, I feel this holiday is especially stupid, although there are numerous stupid things people do. If they had just admitted that they like to have a day in the calendar to gather in mobs and party and have fun - noting wrong with that, i mean, at least it's honest. All these wishes, waiting specifically for the 12th stroke of the clock, resolutions, consulting astrologers what color to wear on the day, what animal is it by Chinese calendar, and then this unfounded cheer all of a sudden. Here's a tip: be cheerful any day you want, you don't need a reason, especially not this kind of a 'reason'. Here's a quote I read in my video on New Year's Eve (by Chekhov), I think it's spot on: I actually don't care if other people celebrate. But because there's such a pressure in society, I can't just stay home and work and play like any other day. Unless I also go out to celebrate with friends somewhere, my mother expects me to come and 'greet' the coming year with her. She's not like me and will feel lonely if on this particular day some sort of a celebration doesn't take place. So for me it's just a little annoyance that although I come and have dinners with parents once in a while anyway, on this day - god knows why - I have to. I mean, isn't it idiotic? But whatever, fine. It just feels that a grandiouse display of ecstatic joy such magnitude would've been predicated upon some great achievements of humanity: finding a cure for an epidemic, bringing food and water to all parts of the world, ending all wars... I imagine aliens looking at our planet on that day and wondering what great thing might we have accomplished being so ecstatic, all of us, on the same day. And then finding out is just us miserable assholes who can't stop fighting one another celebrating a 31st of December turning into 1st of January every year, regardless of what's actually happening on our planet. Wouldn't any rational beings think we were retarded? Rhetorical question. |

@Bernardo Welcome to the club! Yep, when you know the truth, others seem like deluded fools!
There was this song in elementary school, perhaps it originated outside the States, I don't know, that goes "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands" repeated ad nauseam and all the boys and girls were supposed to sing and clap and be happy. I wouldn't clap my hands, and the teacher said, "Kirk, why aren't you clapping your hands?" And I replied, "Well, because the song says IF you are happy AND you know it, clap your hands. I either am not happy or I don't know that I am, but in either case, I don't meet the condition and therefore will not be clapping my hands." The teacher just stared at me, turned around, and walked away. |

That's psychological lobotomy, even worse than Teletubbies. Why are they doing this to children?? I think this song gets burned into inoccent childrens brains in order to override any possible dissident thoughts! Mayyybee this song was created in secret MKULTRA Laboraties as they were looking for ways to 'create' happy american consumers from an early age on. And then they came up with this song! But ok, nothing is perfect, as there are also little Kirkies around that are immune to this mental conditioning...obviously you are not are good citizen |
