So yesterday night I confirmed for myself that I haven't missed out on much by not hanging out in night clubs. In fact, I've benefitted from it, apparently)))
Once in a while I like to go dancing in some pub. Live music: rock, rock'n'roll, folk songs - my cup of tea. Like some pop and disco, too. But night clubs? Argh... It's been a long time since I've last visited any.
The best disco I've been to was in the club on the sea shore, with no roof. You could dance on the floor, in the disco lights, and see the stars above. Also, the weather was perfect and the air was fresh.
Unlike in the places I went to yesterday. I guess its just too expensive to arrange the proper fresh air supply for big parties? Even the band that was playing in the first place I dropped in noted the lack of it.
The music was great, and I've tried dancing, but couldn't last long because when you have troubles breathing its not too fun to be jumping around. Shame.
I had to flee that pub because soon there wasn't enough air to even sit and watch, not to mention the dancing part.
I was just going to head home when I changed my mind :) I decided to go check out some of the discos in the areas. Found one. Before going in (and paying the entrance fee) I've asked the guard if there was still space and fresh air. To which he answered affirmatively. And he wasn't liing. It was more or less breathable, much better than the previous place.
The music sucked though. That boring, mindless repetition of passionless, spiritless uncomplicated notes for brain-dead drug addicts! Argh... whatever... I really tried to find some pleasure in moving to that.
But what I didn't think about when entering the club was that some people will pour in later (even though it was 1 am already), and those guys will not care about the space or oxygen. Which is what happenned in about 15 minutes. The club turned into a crowded bus where everyone was smoking, even those who were dancing (i could never understand the fun of that). So even if you adjust to the tobacco stinch, your eyes start itching from the smoke! Soonafter the room with the clearest air was the toilet. I called the taxi and went home. And I was almost kissing the walls when I came back, I was so glad to be home!
Took me like an hour to start feeling healthy again after all that smoke inhalations.
Oh and the public! Well, in the pubs there are at least some interesting faces, some looking somewhat - excuse me my arrogance - intelligent :). But on those discos with trance sound bytes I've only seen some narcissictic teens and people below 30 trying to impress one another. A lot of them probably from rich families. Boys with butterflies on their necks, girls with earrings the size of their shoes... I felt like in a zoo with monkeys.
Well, that was my attempt to re-check my attitude towards night clubs. Will be long time before I drop in some other club. Well... at least I'm not paying to get in, that's for sure
