So I'm back from Budapest. People are asking for pictures but every time I have to explain that I'm not a proper tourist. I often don't bother taking a camera with me, or even thinking of taking pictures, I'm just being in the moment and concentrating on it. Taking pics kind of is an extra effort and I don't like making efforts on a holiday. Posing for camera is even more of a drag, unless it's a professional photo-session.
I'm sure there are plenty of pics of anything on the net these days so who cares if I make my own)))
My friend said he thought he was a lousy tourist, but he realized I was even worse XD
I'm usually like: "Yeah, nice, another statue... man... woman... man on a horse... woman with a dog... man with a sword... how exciting, now lets go have some lunch on a terrace"
Here are the 3 pics out of maybe a dozen that I took in 5 days:
Tried going to that Sziget festival and hated it. All I liked was the music, but the rest - annoying, and not even my favorite band would make me stay to endure thounsands of sweaty people surrounding me, jumping, walking through the crowd at 50degrees Celsius (in the tent with no wind blowing that was probably the case, as it was around 42 outside in the open air). Not to mention the toilets that stink from distance (so I never went in), uncomfortable wooden benches and chairs as seats (and those weren't many anyway), fast-food (last time I ate on the streat standing up was probably years ago, I hate it).
Here I am, pretending to be happy:
So I lasted about an hour on that festival, then took a taxi and went out in the city instead.
And here I am having Szimplakert's snack - a carrot. The guy in the back was watching that spectacle with interest.
Hey, it wasn't my custom order, that's what they were offering))) I thought, what the hell, I need some beta-carotine. Szimplakert is this unlike-anything-else ruin bar which I liked for some reason, even though it's packed with people and there is no music, just chatter like on a market on a busy day.
And here is a view from the plane. Good-bye, Hungary!
And 'thanks' to whoever was responsible for my 50 minutes-long waiting for the delayed flight back to Kiev in a caged room with no seats, no toilets, water or wi-fi. after I've had just a 2-3 hour sleep. There! Could not NOT complain :)
Oh, almost forgot. I actually liked Budapest. Beautiful city, at least those central areas I've seen.
