Ok, I am weirdly handicapped now and hopefully temporary. Otherwise I guess I'll have to wear heels till the end of my life.
Behold, my fashionable slippers:
Five days into persisting light-ish pain in my likely simply sprained lingaments I've discovered that on heels I feel practically fine.
I know I have some things backwards in my life, well, there seems to be one more now. I hurt my foot while walking in flat shoes on a flat surface (if I remember correctly, I can't really spot the moment when it happenned) and now I feel comfortable wearing shoes with heels!
So there you see my little invention of band-aid+socks on top of the heels. Heel-silencers Because I don't want to have angry downstairs neighbours coming to visit.
In general, I'm pissed lately. I keep looking at my passport and the age doesn't seem so high as to be that sick and fragile. It's like my expiry date came and I started falling apart. I won't list all the stuff that went wrong one after another and simultaneously. I'll have to complain in more general terms. So there: I complain!

Yeah, I'm a good neighbour. Now that I've moved I have better neighbours, too. Hardly any noise. As opposed to those elephants upstairs at my previous place. Sure I'm wearing both shoes. Gave me back the freedom of movement. Sorry about your sprain, sounds worse. Although I haven't made an x-ray yet, was hoping it would go away soon, maybe I will, just to be sure. Will see if there are any cute doctors for this Hey, as long as I have to pay anyway I might as well pick and choose ))) But this paying for health stuff is still depressing, I mean, it's good to spend money on smth you acquire, not pay to get back to your usual condition. Perhaps it's like John said that you need the tough times to appreciate the good times. In some cases it is just a bad joke when things keep on going wrong. Yeah, context does change our perception, but we also don't realize how much we acclimate to bad circumstances. Take a long vacation, travel the world, get up late to start your day with a fresh juice on a sunny terrace and you wouldn't believe that you could tolerate 9 to 5 on a daily basis in a busy city. You'll say 'now that's living!' We're built to adapt. |

The photo of the cat made me chuckle.
And this phrase servers no purpose besides reaching 50 characters. |

Hey, as far as I know, immobility and some ointments (with Arnica, preferably) are the best cures for your present ailment... apparently, ligaments and muscles need a little quiet time to return to their original positions. Be kind, and let them!
High-heel slippers seem to be optional (I'd use them if I felt good in them, but only for emergency errands). Wish you a quick recovery! |

Yeah, as far as I've read about this condition rest is what they prescribe dammit. Fine, but for weeks? I hope it cures faster because it's a drag. High-heel slippers seem to be optional (I'd use them if I felt good in them, but only for emergency errands). Well, it was an emergency for me to sweep and wash the floor today. I actually had fun, I've never done it on heels, felt like some naughty maid from some movie lol. But seriously, I needed some exercise and it didn't hurt a bit so I guess it was safe. Other than that I'm walking minimally and exercising while sitting on the bed. But I didn't need an excuse to sit home and do nothing, some other overworked people could make better use of that. Oh well, life is dumb! Wish you a quick recovery! Thank you

Good girl... be a little bit patient, and your foot will be grateful for the rest of your life! (more or less ) |

Hope you feel better soon, Irina.
See it's all this disheartening, realistic thinking that is making your body weak. Get out the old delusions sister! Terrance McKenna is a great inspiration to me and can help tie the big picture together when you can only see the darker sides. The Message |

Thanks, Erich! That was funny and sweet I'm not in much pain any more, but it aparently takes weeks to cure completely so I still have to move carefully. No disco-dancing for me any time soon.)) |
Eight months ago I fell only about 0.8m when ladder collapsed. Was issued a sexy boot and on crutches for 8 or 9 weeks for a very bad sprain. Won't post those pics. Anyway still dealing with consequences today. Bottom line, sometimes you only realise how much you take good health for granted when you don't have it any more. Perhaps it's like John said that you need the tough times to appreciate the good times. In some cases it is just a bad joke when things keep on going wrong.
