Found no better time for an update of my youtube channel than after this lousy party. See what happens when you don't drink enough to go to sleep immediately?!
Embarassing? Who cares? I'm just going to have to change my name and hair-color and start a new life, that's all.

But from a philosophical stand point, you know, it's totally different, you're not interested in what makes you feel better, you're interested in what's the actual circumstance, what's the truth of this situation and when you're just telling yourself that "OK, it could be worse the truth of this situation", it could also be better and why should you accept anything but excellence and perfection ?" yeah...a lot of people will disagree saying 'appreciate what you have, lots of others don't have even that' like on this poster https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201609058178136&set=a.1697669531437.2094352.1528857472

Enjoyed your rambling and found several valid points. Guess one needs to just talk shit every now and then, even when you are tipsy. I should try and do it more often.
24:47 "I sort of hate people but I also love people in a way" I can relate to that statement in the sense that people are so f'd up but in the same time there are many good people. Take for example recent report of event in Ukraine sponsored by Royal Canin that also involved a bear baiting activity. I can generalise and say people from Ukraine are bad people for participating in this activity but, here by us we have received bad reports in past of "lion hunting" but the lion was semi drugged to reduce risk of injury or death of coward hunter. So guess this also makes us bad people. But then you have people like yourself, which I believe you do not support this type of bear activity just like I do not support hunting activity. So in general then in a group you get a mix that makes me hate and love people as well. I hope this comparison is valid. Either way, you are not alone, thinking the way you are thinking. If there are any other idiots out there that can not respect this way of free thinking, then GTFO and leave us alone! |

Yes I'm not alone, but people who think similarly are mostly thousands of miles away(( well, at least we have internet today. it allows most everybody to find like-minded people Btw, I'll fix that authorization through Twitter, I know you used to use it :D It broke ever since Twitter updated it's API. |

"yeah...a lot of people will disagree saying 'appreciate what you have, lots of others don't have even that'"
But as you have said before, saying "it could be worse" is simply a coping mechanism. The only reason we don't go around saying "it could be better" is because of our bias towards life and positivity. And we can thank evolution for that. I'm telling you, you should write a book. I don't care if you're just repeating what others have said before, (like Schopenhauer), as long as it is worded a little differently, it's entertaining. You just have to make sure the book has a badass cover. Yes I care about book's aesthetics. |

Also, I forgot to mention that not only are biased towards positivity but we also underestimate just how bad things are. As Schopenhauer said, suffering is the default state. And there are certain states that don't even come across as bad simply because we are used to them...being hungry, feeling cold or hot, feeling bored and so forth..

Yes I care about book's aesthetics. :) Hehe, I guess that's going to be the easiest part - making a cover XD As Schopenhauer said, suffering is the default state. And there are certain states that don't even come across as bad simply because we are used to them...being hungry, feeling cold or hot, feeling bored and so forth.. Yeah, Benatar also makes this point in the beginning of his book. We adapt to constant level of discomfort, we're always a little unomfortable, a bit tensed, a bit cold or hot, something aches somewhere etc... So our 'OK' state is the one with minimal discomfort. And what is a blissful state then - when all of the discomfort is eliminated for a while. That's all. Our burdens fall off for a moment. The absence of negative sensations is being perceived as bliss: relaxed, neither cold nor hot, neither hungry nor too full, having no troublesome thoughts, not having to run anywhere to solve problems...
