Peizazhna alley in Kiev. An interesting place with a unique fairy atmosphere. We went there today with a friend. Here are just a few pics I took in haste (quite a few other people walking, posing, taking their pictures)
Can you imagine that our local authorities are constantly trying to demolish this place and erect a building there instead? There are courts, appeals, protests taking place. Goes on and on. Limitless human greed.

Guess that is how institutions want us to spend our free time, trawling shops in the malls instead of interacting with other people in a more natural environment that does not involve spending money. From pics that you have posted the place looks very nice and would be a pity to loose the battle.

I don't think its institutions, more like greedy people at power who either own or get bribes from corporations. I actually don't mind more stores, I can just ignore them, malls aren't nuclear power plants. Its only when they want to ruin unique picturesque places like this to open another shopping center that I get mad. |
