Here are a couple of nice pictures of our main square that I took today with my phone. Actually, almost identical shots only the settings of the camera were different.
So I'm in the process of looking for a new apartment where I have to relocate in 2 weeks max.
And just as I thought I've found a nice place in the central area of Kiev, on a quiet street the woman who is currently renting it said I'd be woken up every morning by the bells of the nearby monastery.
Great. Tell me religion does no harm! I can't rent an apartment which I otherwise like because some people feel entitled to make noise every day.
And even though I kind of like church bells sound, I wouldn't want to heard it every day and especially not be woken up by them at sunrise.
What's also annoying is that 70% of the apartments for rent don't have an air-conditionair. That one did, and I'd have taken it if not for the noisy religious neighbours. Damn them! Peace disturbance is a mortal sin, it was just lost in translation.

What, does the main square look that ugly? No, sure. I haven't thought hard about it yet but I'd rather live in a more civillized country. |

It's just that from the little I have heard, Ukraine is kind of a backwards country. I, personally, really dislike the country I live in and I really want to move abroad in the future. Sweden, Norway are the main contenders as of right now. They seem to be great countries to live in. But I'm also fascinated by South Korea (though I would never visit the country or move there with the current political climate).
We'll see. Anything but Portugal |

Yeah...there are no perfect places on Earth, of course. But some are definitely closer to perfection in many respects. Just these holidays... like a plaque, Kievites occupied various parks and green zones and already there is a tonne of trash everywhere. Pigs. This country is doomed. Well, not only because of this, of course. But the nepotism, corruption on every level of government combined with general apathy of an average citizen to fight for anything is a road to nowhere. |

I remember once watching a documentary about many a place in my country (Spain) having the same problem with church bells...they couldn't sleep because of those bells making the hell of a noise every hour of day and night!!! (ain't they devilish?)

Yeah, one of my friends from Belgium said he was living near the church and bells would wake him up. It's a world-wide mafia above the law! I had an idea to find a devout Muslem and tell him "You know, those guys from that church said something about your Mohammad". And just maybe a problem would be solved |

How ingenious... and surely one is entitled to counterattack devilish ways with devilish schemes. |

I could never make it through the summer without air conditioning. When I was a kid, I spent most of my time outdoors, no matter how hot it was. Now that I'm getting older, I wonder how I even managed! I do remember sometimes getting so hot that I just jumped in the creek and laid there. My clothes, shoes, everything soaking wet, I'd make my way out, only to be totally dried off within a half hour. The heat in summer months is unbearable here in Missouri.

I've fanilly found a nice apt. with air-conditioning. It's a miracle, I'll go join the churches in ringing their bells |
