US vetoes UN condemnation of Israeli settlements... Big surprise!
I think people are tired counting how many times that had happenned before: US vetoeing any resolutions condemning Israel's actions - be those settlements, war crimes, apartheid policies.
Many people are easily fooled because they listen to words. Some guys were arguing on forums that Obama is really tough on Israel. He said this, he said that. Well, guess what? Words don't hurt. Israel couldn't care less what Obama says - or Biden - as was clearly demonstrated by him being humiliated when in Israel.
Words, words, words. They are just for silly public. In the private telephone conversations different words are spoken. How do you know that? By looking at the actions.
US never stopped its financial support for Israel, no matter what speeches were said, with what intonation or face expression. Words never matter. Only actions do. And US never actually DONE anything to pressure Israel, nor does it intend to in any foreseeable future.
Our Ukrainian government is always pro-Israel. You could tell by the latest 'flotilla incident' when all reports on mainstream channels, controlled by the government, were showing only Israeli side of the story, only interviews with Israeli officials and no one from the opposite side of the conflict. Other channels were much less biased, of course, but they aren't that powerful.
This is a very sad situation.

Unfortunately with powerful lobby/think tank organizations like AEI, AIPAC, Heritage Foundation, Hudson Institution, Christians United for Israel, etc. countries like the Ukraine and US don't stand a chance at combating this issue. The media as well is completely bought up by Neo-Zionists which dupe Christians into thinking that God is a real estate agent. Even though I don't think voting really matters because of the electronic voting machines it still amazes me how many people will go to the voting booth and vote against their own interest and in the interest of a foreign nation simply because of religion.

Yeah, a year went by since I wrote the post and nothing has changed. Christians into thinking that God is a real estate agent. Haha. Indeed. Here's an excerpt from Edward Said's lecture where he talks about Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and 'god-given land' claims. |

Great clip, I've listened to numerous lectures by Edward Said. He actually seems like someone who isn't bought off.
