"Ukrainian neurosurgeon, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Andriy Slyusarchuk", a person who made it into a national book of records for memorizing the 30 million (!!!) digits of the Pi number, who claimed to have memorized 20,000 books, and defeated Rybka (one of the top-rated computer chess engines).
Slyusarchuk liked to call himself 'Doctor Pi'.
He met with both Ukrainian presidents Yuschenko and Yanukovich.
Below is a current screenshot of this page on Ukraine's presidential website.
Today the person is under arrest. Turns out, he does not have any medical education, he never even graduated from any college.
Gotta love this country!
Corruption opens a lot of doors here, everyone knows it. But when the scam is of such proportions - man! - it's still amazing!
It would have been funny if only he wasn't responsible for wrecking some people's health and reportedly, even causing deaths. The guy from the street was conducting surgeries on people!
When a journalist asked a phony neurosurgeon while he was being escorted by police who was his first victim, the guy replied with 'f*ck you'. (source, in russian)
Well, no wonder the scammer is in such a bad mood these days, because Ukrainian prisons conditions are so horriffic, that Doctor Pi's life is going to get pretty f*cked up.
