This dish does not require much cooking. And if you plan the sequence of action right, it takes just a few minutes. Simple and healthy and supposedly helps loose weight, which I'll have to check for myself ;)
I don't normally eat pasta, because I consider it to be more or less a junk food (high in calories and low in vitamins and minerals). But with whole grain fiber-rich pasta I thought I'd give it a try. Also, it has low glycemic index.
I found one that tastes almost exactly like normal pasta, just has a brown color. It certainly doesn't taste worse, just a bit different.
This is a nice lunch, not too heavy. The secret is - more salad. I think everyone knows this recommendation by now: you eat more salad reducing the amount of space left for other foods. So you feel full sooner without having consumed lots of fattenning food.
I used to didn't care much for salads, back when I was a kid or a teenager. Guess because they weren't considered too important in our house. But later on, as I was educating myself in proper nutrition, I realized how important fresh vegetables are, and my tastes changed. Today, I can't imagine a meal without at least some vegetables or greens. It's absolutely possible to change your eating habits, at least to a considerable extent.
