06-12-2015 Looks like a great trip, Irina! Maybe I'll go some day. Some good pics, but you surprised me with one with passion fruit and a knife, and a plant pod seed which FREAKED ME OUT! I have trypophobia and seriously I now have my hair standing up, waves of energy moving up and down my shoulders, and goosebumps. You have no idea! I don't see how other people can stand those freaky things. Just the thought of a picture of one sets me off.Had a good chat with 'Trick about free will, possibilities, physics, etc.. He's got a good mind, and it was good to be able to discuss my agnostic ideas about logic and free will with him. Well, I hope this newest "friend" doesn't keep you away for too long, but I know it'll be time-consuming for a time while you settle into whatever it is you are settling into! |

Looks like a great trip, Irina! Maybe I'll go some day. You should. Also, relatively cheap. USD rate is 1 to 30+, so you can get that "fried gee" in a restaurant for 60-70cents. But I recommend pad thai. a plant pod seed which FREAKED ME OUT! Jezuz. You mean that ashtray full of holes? Or the dragon fruit with black seeds on white background? Thanks to you - for mentioning trypophobia - I feel nauseous now because I googled it. Don't do it! There are pictures! Bleh! F.! Had a good chat with 'Trick about free will, possibilities, physics, etc.. Oooh nice. Facebooking lately? Or did you find him on his website? Well, I hope this newest "friend" doesn't keep you away for too long No, he won't. I've got plenty of things to do on my own though. Need to keep some balance between them all, but I can sometimes get carried away with one thing over the other. Kind of like it better than schedule, makes you feel more alive and free to be able to prioritize things according to what you feel like doing today. |

06-12-2015 And I have already feared that you stayed there and became a buddhist nun or something! (even bald you would look great, i am sure )I think its kind of ironic that there are statues and icons of a guy who probably discouraged such things. (and these were absent in early Buddhism anyway). Tell people how much live really sucks, and that the only way to transcended or overcome suffering is trough some sort 'mental suicide', and people will start to fabricate a religion in your name! But however, I never was in Thailand and I wonder how relevant Theravada Buddhism is there in everyday life, outside of temples and monasteries. As much as I dislike religion and superstitions, i do enjoy religious art and even think that religious rituals are kind of cute (i just cant help myself there) |

I think its kind of ironic that there are statues and icons of a guy who probably discouraged such things Exactly. how relevant Theravada Buddhism is there in everyday life Can't say by just being there for 2 weeks. Think better watch some documentaries on Youtube to find an answer to that. I actually heard in one of them this Thai guy saying that religion is not so popular any more with younger generation, it's on the decline. But when we drove around that island near locals' houses we saw a lot of these cute things (spirit houses, aparently). |

06-12-2015 @Irina It's the seed pod of a plant I can't remember the name of. For some reason florists love to put that in arrangements and even thinking about it is giving me serious creeps right now. I've had this phobia since I was very small, I just didn't know everyone didn't have it and that it had a name. Supposedly it is a remnant of evolution to keep me away from poisonous animals and plants, particularly reptiles/frogs, that tend to have these type patterns or actually regularly space holes, for some reason. There is also a frog that carries its young in its back in pits that I can't even think about.Weirdly, 'Trick and I started on the AN group on FB and moved to about a 50 reply dialogue! I guess the moderator didn't mind because we weren't blocked, and I added a tie-in to AN at the end to make everybody happy. |

I guess the moderator didn't mind because we weren't blocked, and I added a tie-in to AN at the end to make everybody happy. No, why would you get blocked, this question pops up now and then, along with veganism and some others. Though there's a dedicated Facebook group 'Trick may have told you about, called The Illusion of Free Will. |

07-12-2015 Welcome back, Irina! Those pictures are amazing. It looks like you had a blast. You sure picked the right time of year to go to a warm location; it's freezing in Kiev, I'm sure Thailand is on my list of places to go. |

Thanks. Not freezing the past couple of days, even some sun, but yeah, it's getting there, some days really harsh cold. Thailand is very hot. I went in the relatively low season, which I enjoyed especially because lots of space, few people and prices are lower. And there wasn't much rain at all, and only 1 mosquito bugged me once, other times I hardly seen any 'bloodsuckers' :) But technically you can get Denge fever from them and that's not pleasant. |
|
07-12-2015 I'm glad you didn't get the Denge fever Any other trips planned? I don't have any but want to take one in a year or so. Maybe Iceland. |

07-12-2015 @Irina We have something similar to those spirit houses here in San Antonio, except they are catholic and have saints in them. They sit out in the yards in the rain, heat, etc. but religion still rules. I think a lot of people have them to ensure the Spurs basketball team continues to win a lot, because I have heard gawd really appreciates basketball. |

08-12-2015 I can't remember where you were talking about Darth Vader running for office, but if you haven't seen this it's funny, IMO.Chad Vader, Day Shift Manager https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wGR4-SeuJ0 |

Ok, the first minute was funny, then kind of getting used to the charachter and he's too predictable just doing the same thing with different people.)) |

11-12-2015 Irina,I hope I don't sound too much like a pessimist I was reading about the tsunami that pummeled Thailand in 2005. 250,000 or so people died. The world sucks. |

Damn, was is it that many? No worries, humans always repopulate. And overpopulate now. Keep coming back for more. Or rather, keep sending their kids for more. |

12-12-2015 you elitist charlatan ... excellent..so i guess im a fascist on the inside, that needs communism (on the outside) to be free.. ..jealous .. i consider your "just world delusion" to be legendary.. and wonder what - you might do, what you might think, and if you may be inspired to influence .. but thats all just general interest.. ..i would have commented on your G+.. specifically that of your first post there (that i could see anyway) of putin invades.. i would have liked to attested.. he was afraid that you would take over.. and rightly so.. one could wish.. ..and you cant hide behind some unkempt facade... you'd likely more burn away the darkness infinitely vast and dense .. nor not that than be much less the light dim.. dont be to shy to come round when you might, the world needs heroes... huhn ? 8 ) ..myself, (of smaller things, ha .. look on most here @ "Nadia Yvette Chambers" https://www.youtube.com/user/detransition ... maybe a bit unconventional, surely.. they often there bother most with consternations of - god or not god - and such.. it gets trolly.. but its gotten too at times near the greatest heights.. maybe you might come speak.. but, be gentle w her.. shes fragile even tho she has Never seen her equal.. straight truth.. 8 ) ..best ..best ..and best to you .. cheers 8 ) come hero.. .. oh, and note.. should you come.. of course there are within that small arena, those who would adore and relish you (of course, ah'duh) .. and those of pure crass, folly and utter contempt.. but, can be thwarted..in their disharmonious accordance of ever contestable ubiquity and nearly homogenous contrarity .. 29-01-2016 I don't know why I'm looking at your Thailand pictures again, maybe because I'm jealous lol. Good thing you went when you did. Thailand is wonderful but its future is iffy, from what I understand. When the king dies (he is in poor health) his heirs (who control almost everything, including tourism) may turn the country upside down. His eldest son was supposed to become king but Thailand is stepping into modern times and now it is the eldest child, not the eldest son, who inherits the throne. So after he dies his oldest daughter should be in power which, of course, upsets the son, so there'll be upheaval in the royal family that will probably effect the entire country. The people are divided, his daughter is very popular and many hate the son, but some still think a male should be ruler. I better get my ass in gear and go soon, in case everything turns to shit lol. |

Because you can feel the 'spirit' and the 'energy' and other woo-woo stuff illuminating from these pictures, beckoning you to come and experience Asia too :D And you better not talk about Thai royalty whoever's in power, since they have this law that can put you behind bars for insulting their king. Anyway, good idea to go there before whetever changes. I mean Turkey was quite safe a year or so ago, now there's bomb after bomb going off, very bad for tourism. You never know where shit hits the fan next. So far Thailand has been relatively safe, if you ignore Denge fever risk and they had that one terror act in Bangkok almost a year ago I think. Anyhow, Bangkok is all right but best to go to some island with no sky-scrapers, with palms and sea and maybe mountains. ::sigh:: |
