11-03-2014 Nice pic of you on the tank. Show them how to really use military equipment.Since we had conscription, I was dreading the day when I had to go to army when I turned 18. I have never been able to buy into war bandwagon thing. Then again it was fight or sit in military prison, your choice. So I was very happy to go and study and then they cancelled mandatory army The Churchill quote gave me goosebumps. You can only say WTF to that one! No matter how much I try to analyse this, there always seems to be money for new military equipment and R&D, but never enough for homeless, hospitals and more worthy causes. Search youtube for sofex video were generals do their countries grocery shopping. Totally crazy. So guess there is truth in the only 25 year peace statement. Sending a hug for a positive energy boost. Don't forget the calmness for a clear mind. |

The Churchill quote gave me goosebumps. You can only say WTF to that one! I was a bit shocked by it too, at first. But then when you give it some extra thought... and learn about Christopher Hedges's book 'War Is A Force That Gives Us Meaning' - which I haven't read yet but seen quotes from it - you might want to research this topic deeper. "seems to be money for new military equipment and R&D, but never enough for homeless, hospitals"
Sending a hug for a positive energy boost. Thanks!)) |

12-03-2014 I can see how people in power could like viewing war from their abstract, game-like way. It would be similar to playing a strategy game. Churchill might have said that because he was the one controlling what happened. Or maybe he was a bit socio/psychopathic.I don't know if you would find this unethical, but if you seems to be losing income, you could set up a paypal donation account. It may help a bit. Good luck. |

Paypal donations aren't possible for my country. Neither is Skrill allowing transfers to Ukraine. Lucky, huh? So it's only the bothersome SWIFT and Visa Money Transfer that's left. Hope it won't be needed anyway, thanks for suggestion :) Call-up papers came today for my landlord. (( |

17-03-2014 (>_ , (~_~ ... no ...... on an unrelated note. ive been here each day for 6 days, this is the first time ive seen your response, even tho its dated - 14-03-2014. I imagine , this is big stuff, and think, if you have so many fans, you might think about posting a quick summary of what you see is going on around you. my impression was that the ppl were taking back the government, I was very excited. this was my shame that I do nothing of the sort, the road to real change. another comment I posted I don't see here anymore, I'd said following my first comment on the same day (14-03-2014) - our mainstream news had no report that Russia was invading to take/keep control. and I thought that was incredible and terrible. .... so, I don't know you, I don't know who you know, how your doing or anything.. ('_') Q _Q ... its obvious I wouldn't mind knowing you : ) , and hope the very best for the ppl, and of course for you. id be happy to join their ranks if it meant making a change. |

True, but I don't know that we can generalize this. Some people, mostly uconciously I'd think, long for wars while others are perfectly satisfied with 'normal' life and want peace at any cost. Like today in Ukraine: some say they're going to fight for their country, others are just going to sit home and wait while others fight and then simply carry on living in whatever country they'll wake up in. Not surprisingly perhaps, war-loving is prevalent among men. |

yep. because in war every loser can feel himself a hero. he straps on a gun and suddenly out of nobody he is turned into somebody who has power over the lives and deaths of people... |

05-05-2014 I doubt it's any consolation, but as I've been reading the news, following the Russia/Ukraine situation, I've had you in mind and have been hoping everything is fine for you in Kiev. |

09-05-2014 War gives us a sense of purpose and meaning, so I can understand the Churchill quote. War is action, and action is entertainment. However, Churchill would've probably grown tired of war very quickly, had he actually been forced to fight. Or just forced to stay in the middle of a warzone for days on end. Sitting comfortably in a recliner, sipping whisky, he could easily enjoy the war, like most other politicians would've done.I appreciate your updates from Ukraine, btw. It's interesting stuff for a Westerner like me, seeing as I'm not exposed to such conditions myself. I hope you can manage. Take care. |

would've probably grown tired of war very quickly, had he actually been forced to fight maybe... but then there's this kind of thing about war: The enduring attraction of war is this: Even with its destruction and carnage it can give us what we long for in life. It can give us purpose, meaning, a reason for living. Only when we are in the midst of conflict does the shallowness and vapidness of much of our lives become apparent. Trivia dominates our conversations and increasingly our airwaves. And war is an enticing elixir. It gives us resolve, a cause. It allows us to be noble. And those who have the least meaning in their lives, the impoverished refugees in Gaza, the disenfranchised North African immigrants in France, even the legions of young who live in the splendid indolence and safety of the industrialized world, are all susceptible to war's appeal. ~ Chris Hedges "War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning" i hope Ukraine will not be turned into another Yugoslavia. people never learn. because learning is not fun. making efforts to understand and think for ourselves is not fun. watching TV is. and there we get both entertainment and propaganda which will determine how we view the world and how we will behave. and if we will go to another war on a false pretext. |
|
10-05-2014 "and if we will go to another war on a false pretext."Almost all wars are fought on false pretexts anyway. The ruling class (the banksters) force us into wars for their own benefit. They profit from wars, since nothing racks up debt like wars do. And debt is the blood flowing through bankster veins. It's been that way for centuries. Other war profiteers are, obviously, the military industrial complex, who, like the banksters, own the politicians. But I've come to the conclusion that I've been focusing too much of my attention on the negative aspects of life. And on dystopian visions of the future. I've learned that it's much more valuable to actually do something worthwhile, like hiking in the mountains, being a part of nature, building something, taking pictures of wildlife, observing the tawny owls living in the owl box my brother built ... And so forth. There's so much to see and do, so many positive experiences to be had. But of course, I'm privileged, coming from a farm in the countryside in one of the world's richest countries, with almost unspoiled nature -- compared to most other places. It's a fragile beauty, but it's mine to behold and be a part of. I like observing how the climate is changing, how the snow is disappearing, how everything seems to be falling apart. Of course, all of it is illusory and transient. Nothing is falling apart, and the climate has always been changing. Mankind is probably quite unimportant in the bigger scheme of things. |

Almost all wars are fought on false pretexts anyway. True, especially today when people need to preserve their image of a tolerant, moral person with humanistic values. Perhaps in some distant past war was a question of 'why not' - that's what people do: one group fights the other.Well, there's no point in Banksters and military industrial complex - sure. Money and power. Ensured by the lack of accountability for those who start and approve of wars. If everyone who votes in parliament for the aggresiion/invasion/sending of troops somewhere would have to send their own children and family members to battlefields they'd think twice. It's good you're enjoying yourself. No point in being down on purpose, if you can avoid it you should because it benefits no one. I do exciting things all the time, I mean, I have, because now I have to get back to working more as the economy is falling and so are my earnings. But still I don't regret having lived a relaxed period of life doing what I loved and not working much. |

13-05-2014 There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare. Sun Tzu...A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of colored ribbon. Napoleon... There is no avoiding war; it can only be postponed to the advantage of others. Niccolo Machiavelli...The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.Sun Tzu...“It is only the dead who have seen the end of war” plato...It is a royal privilege to do good and be spoken ill of....Antisthenes...It is better to fall in with crows than with flatterers; for in the one case you are devoured when dead and in the other case while alive...Antisthenes...If you are to be kept right, you must possess either good friends or red-hot enemies. The one will warn you, the other will expose you.,, i for who said this..Plato had defined Man as an animal, biped and featherless, and was applauded. Diogenes plucked a fowl and brought it into the lecture-room with the words, "Here is Plato's man."... |
