Flase-flagging clean sites sucks, McAfee. Especially if they are mine.
You know what McAfee's SiteAdvisor reminds me of? That evil Santa robot from Futurama which malfunctioned and started judging everyone to be naughty.
And yes, I've googled the problem and sent review requests at least twice more than 2 months ago and sent some other kind of a reconsideration request a week ago and no progress. Still flagged as dangerous. I mean, after my first review request it did turn green for a little while but then soonafter got back to red again.
My site isn't blacklisted by any other system, only by McAfee.
Why do I care? I wouldnt have noticed that if one day I hadn't decided to post a link to that site on Facebook. Didn't succeed because aparently it uses McAfee's 'naughty list' and prevents users from linking to blacklisted domains. This also makes it impossible for visitors to 'like' website's pages by clicking the button. Seeing how social signals these days are very important for search engines this indirectly affects rankings, and rankings affect business.
Not that I was doing business with that site yet but that's beside the point. Do I have to worry about my other sites being misjudged the same way? Do I have to check if the rating is green every now and then for each site? And then if it's red - spend my time filling out forms? I think it's called being pain in the ass. Thanks, McAfee.
Aparently, this kind of problems have been taking place for years.

Indded, I got a reply to my previous review request after this post. Maybe #Steadvisor tag on Twitter works better than ticket system on the official site. Anyway, lets see if this fix sticks. |
Or perhaps it is mafia tactics were they make your life difficult until you pay them a "investigation fee" to remove the blacklist.
